Where Have Some Of The Las Vegas Locksmiths Gone?

Where have some of the Las Vegas locksmith gone to? From as early as 1950 To 2019 to be a locksmith Las Vegas tech was a big deal. In fact, there has been multiple Las Vegas locksmith companies that have sold for over a million dollars in the metro Las Vegas area. At some point it was even believed that locksmiths in las Vegas had the highest income for the amount of time you had to get schooling (or on the job training) It wasn't uncommon for a Las Vegas locksmith to earn $50k in the 90's. And even though today 50k might not seem much, you would have to understand that in the mid 90's you could buy a nice home in Las Vegas for $150,000. Some Las Vegas locksmith stores have been around for over 50 years at one point. But as of today it's extremely rare that a locksmith company can even afford to have a location. This will explain why so many locksmith Las Vegas service providers have only mobile services these days. As far as statistics go, I would say that less than 10% of Las Vegas locksmiths that are listed on Google maps have a location to where the consumer can walk in. So back to what we started asking from the beginning of this article, where have the locksmiths gone?

So first we need to understand what happened? When the covid-19 pandemic started in late 2019 early 2020. It seems that many people stopped letting service companies inter their homes. This affected carpet cleaners, Las Vegas locksmiths, bug spray services, maid service, and much more. As things started to settle most service companies started to go back to business as usual. However, the Las Vegas locksmith industry did not. This was not do to the fact that people were afraid of engaging with other people. It was because there was less homes for sale on the market. And just to explain how dramatic it was and still is. in the average year you would see 15,000 to 20,000 home for sale at any given time. And as of late it's well below 3,000 homes that are up for sale. This means that the locksmith Las Vegas service providers have a much smaller chance to catch customers as they move in for a rekey or a lock repair. And just to explain how serious that is, for some Las Vegas locksmith companies the re-key job was more than 70% of their work. In other words if your company was living off of residential work you had a loss that couldn't be subsidized in any other areas. And to make it clear all the big successful locksmith companies in Las Vegas were counting on rekey jobs day after day.

So now lets look at where did the locksmith Las Vegas service providers that have left have gone to? Well it seems that there's three states that have pulled some of these locksmith away. The first state is Texas. The state of Texas does not have income tax as well as low licensing fees, high job growth, access to high-quality, skilled employees, and a low cost of living. This gave new opportunity to people who had great locksmith skills as well as your self go getters who liked the idea of having that kind of freedom.

Another state that started seeing some of the locksmith from Las Vegas head their way is Wyoming. The reason Wyoming saw such a movement was because they always had a lack of high security experts. This gave some Las Vegas locksmiths a chance to move  where they felt they had a niche in the market. And lets not also forget that Wyoming also has no state income tax.

And last but not least is Florida. The state of Florida really needs no reason to offer people to move. This place is beautiful and has many people wishing they've already moved there. So when locksmiths started to look for options it's no wonder they chose such an amazing place. And let's not forget that Florida also has no state income tax as well as affordable housing minutes for the beautiful beaches.

An conclusion; The covid-19 has given some people a new chance, a reset, or a new choice to look around and see what they might be missing ''who knew''.
